This week our discussion goes beyond the traditional family. Please answer two of the following questions:

1. Discuss why some parents adopt or become foster parents? What are some of the challenging issues that come up for parents of adopted children or foster children and how best do they handle those challenges?

2. Teen parents, unmarried cohabitating and single parents face many hurdles in life that older or more traditional parents do not face. Explain effective ways they can address these issues?

3. Explain how parents minimize the effects of divorce or parental absence on their kids?
