All of the men were paid in advance before the robbery was committed. Frank purchased a gun for John for him to rob the bank. Bob stole a car to be used as the getaway car and would drive John away when the robbery was completed. Scott cut the power to the bank several minutes before the robbery. David was called in a false alarm for a robbery, in order to distract the police, at a bank on the opposite side of the city as the bank John was going to rob, one minute before the actual robbery.
