Objective: To initiate research on a Spanish-speaking country/region and practice introductory speaking skills. You must first decide on a country/region from the list below. This is something you should mention in your first Participation Discussion Board Post to ensure that no more than TWO students choose the same country/region. Countries Estados Unidos (EE.UU) La República Dominicana Puerto Rico Cuba México Colombia El Salvador Venezuela Guatemala Perú Nicaragua Ecuador Costa Rica Argentina Panamá Bolivia Chile Paraguay España Honduras Uruguay Guinea Ecuatorial (no está en Vistas) Country/Territory Selection Requirement Once students choose a country or territory for Mini-Task 1, they must continue with that selection for all subsequent mini-tasks and the final project. Changing the choice after Mini-Task 1 is not allowed and will result in penalties during the final project evaluation. Students should carefully select their country or territory at the start of the semester and ensure consistency throughout the course to maintain continuity and depth in their work.

A. English Component

Write a brief paragraph (100-150 words) explaining your choice of country/region and your initial impressions or interests about it. This encourages you to start thinking critically about your choice and its significance. Find a country/region that interests you and make sure to include why it interests you in this description.

B. Spanish Component????

Record a 2–3-minute video in Spanish introducing your chosen country/region. Include basic information like its location, capital, language, and some interesting facts.This task helps you begin using Spanish in a descriptive context, setting a foundation for more complex tasks ahead. Remember that you are still a beginner/intermediate Spanish-speaker, so errors are expected. The objective is to create a video with informal, spontaneous, original speech in Spanish, so you should not be overly concerned with accuracy! These videos are to help you build comfort with expressing your thoughts and feelings in Spanish, so be creative, be original, and be yourself. Do NOT create/read from a script for this assignment.
