3. What do my readers know already? How do my readers feel about the topic?
My target group would also include such people as fellow coaches, educators, sport psychologists, and parents, possibly well-informed or not aware of coaching pedagogy in one way or another. Many of them may be personally engaged in the youth sports, as players or coaches, or parents, and may be dragging their own preconceptions and experiences into the topic. Some of the readers may be conservative in their views and believe in the significance of winning being the most important factor, whereas the rest of them may be more sophisticated in their minds in terms of athlete-based coaching. It is possible that such people do not believe in the fact that positive coaching styles can ruin the competitive advantage or sportive discipline. Furthermore, there is a likelihood that some of the readers may be on the defensive side when they feel that they are being criticized about coaching practices which they are undertaking, or they have undergone in their respective situations in their sporting life. In order to reach this diverse audience, I must be capable of providing evidence in a manner that is persuasive, and at the same time, the aspect of standards and training of athletes to be in a position to participate in high-level events must also be put into consideration.
